Students have the option to select their pronouns in Axess which will also populate in Canvas. Pronouns will be visible to both the teaching teams and peers in various areas in Canvas, including:
- Announcements (Group level)
- Comment fields such as Announcement and Discussion comments
- Discussion posts (Course level and Group level)
- Inbox (when a message is received; pronouns do not display when composing)
- Peer Review Assignments
and - People Tool
- Course level
- Group level
- Course level
- Course User Profile Page
In addition, you will see your pronouns in other areas of Canvas, including:
- User Navigation
- User Profile Page
- User Settings Page
In addition to the locations listed above, instructors can see selected pronouns in other areas of Canvas. Setting pronouns is optional and not required. If you need to update your pronouns, please go to Axess.
