Display an embedded file directly within a page

Follow the steps below to force a Canvas file to display within a page.

1. In the Rich Content Editor (RCE), click the dropdown arrow for Documents and select Course Documents (for files already uploaded to Canvas). 
   
   
2. From the right-hand panel, search your course files and select the file you'd like to add by clicking on the file name.  
   
   
3. The file name will appear in the RCE. Click on the file name and select Link Options.
   
   
4. A panel will open to the right. Select the option to Preview inline and checkbox for Expand preview by Default.
   
   
5. Click Done.
